AI Listing Summary
This 1979 Ford Escort MK2 has been restored as a 1600 Sport homage, featuring a 2.0L Pinto engine and a 5-speed gearbox, presented in Signal Green with desirable upgrades. Despite a recent mechanical refresh and good underside condition, the car exhibits several cosmetic flaws including paint issues, dents, and interior wear, indicating it needs some reconditioning.

Condition
6
The car has undergone a rotisserie restoration and mechanical refresh, with new reproduction exterior parts and good quality tyres. However, there are several noted cosmetic flaws including heavy polishing marks, paint contamination, a dent on the front wing, an imperfection on the rear door, bubbling on the roof, heavily scratched glazing, delaminating rear window, a slightly damaged rear light, filler at the base of the A-pillar and around the headlight, sun damage on door frames, and paint runs. The interior has some cigarette burns on the front seats and wear on the armrest and boot carpet. The engine sump has a minor oil leak. These issues indicate it's in 'Good' condition requiring some reconditioning.

It also features a twin-choke Weber carburettor along with alloy components that include the radiator, bellhousing, and sump.
Restored in the UK on a rotisserie for full access and mechanically refreshed into the bargain, the seller took the Escort in part-exchange against an American classic car, which is what he specialises in.
Nevertheless, the quality of the workmanship impressed him: “It’s a well-put-together MkII Escort with a straightforward specification that adds a few sensible upgrades to the original look that make it easier to use.” The combination of Signal Gree...
