AI Listing Summary

This 1967 Austin Healey 3000 MkIII is a British Racing Green example that has been professionally converted to right-hand drive and repainted in a striking green-over-cream scheme. It has undergone significant mechanical attention, including an engine rebuild and upgrades to cooling and filtration systems, and presents and drives very well. The interior has also seen recent refurbishment with new carpets, door cards, and seat cushions. While the bodywork is generally impressive, there are several noted cosmetic flaws including dents, bubbling, and paint chips on various panels, along with scratches on the windscreen and peeling paint on the roof frame. The wheels show gentle tarnishing, and some window seals have hardened. Despite these cosmetic issues, the car is a well-maintained and enjoyable classic that is expected to hold its value well.

However, there are several noted cosmetic imperfections, including a dent and bubble on the front nearside wing with a chip on the wheelarch, chips on the trailing edge of the nearside door and wing with bubbling at the base of the wing, bubbling and a chip on the offside rear wing, a small dent in the offside door, chips on the boot lid, and paint damage around the nearside hinge. The windscreen has fine scratches, and the paint on the roof frame is peeling. Some rubber window seals have hardened. Mechanically, the car has been well-maintained with recent upgrades and servicing, and the engine bay is described as neat and clean. Overall, the car is in very good condition with minor to moderate cosmetic issues that require attention.

This Austin Healey MKIII was built in December 1966 for the American market as a left-hand drive British Racing Green example.

Factory fitted options included wire wheels fitted with Roadspeed tyres, a laminated windscreen, an adjustable steering column, and an overdrive on the gearbox.

It was dispatched on the 10th of February 1967 bound for Jacksonville, Florida.

Nothing is known of its life overseas, the paper trail recommencing in November 1990 when the DVLA issued it with the registration number ‘AKX 956E’.

It has been professionally converted to right-hand drive and repainted in this attractive green-over-cream colour scheme.

The engine was also stripped and rebuilt with an oversize crankshaft in 1995.

It had just two former UK keepers before the seller bought it in 2008.

He’s enjoyed his eighteen years with it, even taking it as far as France.

The majority of its journeys with him have been high days and holidays but he’s been meticulous in its maintenance, upgrading thi...
