AI Listing Summary
This 1966 Jaguar E Type S1 2+2 is presented in its original Opalescent Silver Blue colour, featuring a desirable manual gearbox and a well-maintained interior. Despite some minor cosmetic imperfections including localized rust and a non-perfectly closing driver's door, the car has undergone recent mechanical servicing and presents a rare opportunity to own a beautiful classic with practicality.
Its rarity as a Series 1 model, combined with the attractive colour and recent investment in maintenance, positions it as a strong contender for collectors seeking an iconic sports car without the very highest price tags. The car is located in South Oxfordshire and viewing is strongly encouraged.

Condition
7
The car is in very good condition overall, with some minor cosmetic issues. The paint is not original but was restored around 2016 and presents well with no major dents or ripples. However, there are some specific areas with minor rust (fuel filler cap, bonnet edge, rain gutter, door aperture, driver's door bottom, boot lid scratch end), a cracked offside front indicator, tarnished chrome with pitting, and scuffs/scratches on the nearside front wing and sill. The boot lid has dropped, damaging the surrounding area, and the driver's door does not close properly. The spinners on the wire wheels have seen better days. Mechanically, it has had recent significant work including a full service, new radiator, brake lines, and caliper service, but the brakes could benefit from bleeding for a sharper feel. The interior is largely excellent with retrimmed seats and a pristine rear seat, though minor items like instrument bezels, steering shroud, and a rear-view mirror may need attention.

Nicholson of Forres, the E Type is believed to have left the Jaguar factory with an automatic gearbox.
Now fitted with the desirable manual ‘box, the seller bought Daisy in September 2025 and being a diligent and fastidious owner booked her in for a full service and a tune-up prior, racking up a bill for more than £2,000 in the process.
We are told that she attracts smiles and waves wherever she goes, and the seller and her husband delivered her to us in person, a 100-mile journey Daisy completed – on the hottest day of the year no less – with her customary sangfroid.
Whilst being the original colour the Opalescent Silver Blue is not the original paint, and given there are a number of invoices from around 2016 for things such as weatherstrip, door handle hardware, seals, clips, and other related i...
