Auctioneers notes: My wife and I went down to deepest Devon to view this superb example of a 1929 MG M Type Sports which has been in the vendor’s family for over 50 years.
The history file is massive and starts in 1969 when Capt J Murray Jones purchased her in a partly restored state.
It appears that little was done to the car until 1989-91 when a complete restoration was carried out, it makes fascinating reading to see how he has traced parts from all over the country.
It seems he enjoyed and used the car until 2001, the last MOT was then and the car was SORN.
The car stayed in his garage until his son decided to use it as his wedding car this year, his father having passed away some 5 years ago.
He realised it now needed restoring again and this was carried out to a very high standard.
The car has a reference number 910 with the MMM Register and is listed MG CC Triple M Silver Jubilee 1961-1986.
