The classic Mini was a revolution on wheels, with an extraordinary level of accommodation for its size and an innovative rubber cone suspension system that helped endow the newcomer with go kart-like handling.
Over 41 years the remarkable model progressed through no less than seven generations, and it was during the seven-year reign of the MKIV version that the base model of Sir Alec Issigonis’s ubiquitous baby was dubbed the Mini City.
