The Gentry is a kit car styled to resemble a MG TF.
It was first offered for sale to the public by RMB Motors of Barwell, Leicestershire from 1974, the company was formed by Roger Michael Blockley who had worked for the Triumph Car Company.
The car was built on the chassis of a Triumph Herald using an angle iron framework which supported aluminium over marine ply body tub panels, fibreglass bonnet, engine bay sides and 'fuel tank', with fibreglass wings and doors.
The radiator grille was frequently sourced from an MG Magnette ZA/ZB.
Over the years there have been several owners of the company and Ford components can be used.
The company is still producing kits and spares, with a thriving owners club.
GVO has been built using a GT6 Mk1 1998cc engine and transmission.
According to the V5C it was first owned , in 1966, by Frank Simpson of Derby, then in 1992 Sylvia Kelly of Manchester.
