The car has been restored to its 1979 specification, with original parts used where possible. The exterior has been completely resprayed in its original color and refinished in correct period livery. The engine has been rebuilt and brought back to homologated specifications. While it was used for track days, it has been well-maintained and reconditioned to a high standard.

A wonderful opportunity to own a famous ex-BTCC Capri with great history.

Helped by the success of his Motor Sport and Performance Car accessory business (run with his brother Derek), Gordon Spice became an established racing driver from the late 60s, through the 70s and 80s in saloons and Group C.

A veteran of 14 Le Mans races and 4 FIA C2 World Championship titles, he raced over 70 different cars during his long career.

From 1986 onwards he designed and built a range of Group C Spice Engineering cars that enjoyed unrivalled success internationally in endurance events, World Sportscar Racing and latterly IMSA GT.

However, he is probably best known in the UK amongst fans of British saloon car racing for his hugely successful Ford Capris during the late seventies and early eighties.

These cars were race prepared by Dave Cook and Peter Clark of CC Racing Developments who were renowned for their high standards and immaculate presentation.
