First held in 1923, the iconic 24 Hours of Le Mans is reputed as the oldest endurance racing event in the world.

Chevrolet entered the event in June 1960, when Briggs Cunningham piloted a Corvette to a first-place win in its class.

In commemoration of the 50th anniversary of that successful feat, Chevrolet’s engineers crafted a limited-production sixth-generation Corvette that would be distinctive, lightweight, and fast.

Thanks to the use of carbon fiber architecture, the car weighed less than a contemporary Z06 while optimizing perfect 50/50 weight distribution.
