Vehicle Details
AI Listing Summary
This 1938 Maybach SW38, originally owned by German circus impresario Carl Krone, boasts a rich history with notable collectors. It features a unique cabriolet body by Spohn of Ravensburg and is presented in well-preserved condition, though showing its age, and retaining many original features including Krone's monogram.
While it has an interesting history, this Maybach has an engine replacement done in the 1950s, an replaced radio, and the listing acknowledges the need for restoration to bring the car back to its former glory.

Condition

The car is described as wearing much of its original Adriatic Blue finish, which is elderly and well-marked, suggesting wear and patina. The interior also has patina, and there's a replacement radio and Notek headlights. The presence of Mr. Krone's monogram etched into the beltline moldings suggests originality, but the overall condition points to noticeable wear and the need for some reconditioning to bring it back to its best.
