The Rolls-Royce Silver Spur made its debut in 1980 as the long-wheelbase version of the Silver Spirit.

The model would remain in production through 2000.

During the 20-year production run numerous upgrades were made, accounting for four generations of the model, and by 1996 the Silver Spur was entering what would be its final iteration.

Rather than calling the new model the Silver Spur IV, Rolls-Royce chose to drop the numerical suffix, referring to the new model simply as the Silver Spur.

The “New Silver Spur,” as it was sometimes called, featured similar specifications to the Silver Spur III albeit with faster acceleration and a slightly higher top speed of 140 mph.

Design-wise the "New Silver Spur" featured the iconic Rolls-Royce radiator and Flying Lady mascot, although both would be reduced in size; the radiator by two inches, and the mascot by nearly 20 percent.
