The Ferrari 612 Scaglietti, introduced in 2004, is one of the few Ferrari models to be released bearing a coachbuilder’s name.

Penned by Pininfarina’s famed designer Ken Okuyama, it paid homage to the great Sergio Scaglietti.

Its elongated body incorporated multiple design cues from the one-off 375 MM and denoted that it was, in fact, a true 2+2 grand tourer, with enough room to fit four adults.

The 612 Scaglietti benefitted from a potent 5.7-liter V-12, producing 533 horsepower, which could be mated to a six-speed F1-style semi-automatic transmission or a traditional manual gearbox.

With a top speed of nearly 200 mph, and fitted luggage in the rear, there was little that could top the 612’s combination of comfort and speed when it was released.

With decadal commemorative special edition road cars now ingrained in the Ferrari marque’s DNA through models such as the F40 and F50, it was no surprise that for 2007, Ferrari would release yet another model.
