Powering the 488 was a 3.9-liter twin-turbocharged V-8 engine, generating a formidable 661 horsepower.

Improved aerodynamics increased downforce by 50% over the 458, with the help of variable flap geometry and scalloped side air intakes.

In 2018, Ferrari elevated the 488 lineage with the introduction of the Special Series 488 Pista.

With design cues influenced by the track-only 488 GTE and 488 Challenge, the Pista is a lightweight marvel, shedding excess mass and gaining additional power.

The same 488 V-8 engine now produced an awe-inspiring 710 horsepower and 568 pound-feet of torque—the most powerful V-8 in the marque’s history—propelling the 488 Pista to 60 mph in a mere 2.85 seconds.
