To celebrate Porsche’s extraordinary back catalogue, in 2009 the Stuttgart firm unveiled a very special limited-edition 911: the Sport Classic.

An evocative mix of styling cues from the then-current 997 and iconic 1973 Carrera RS, the result was one of the most appealing Porsches of the modern era.

Equipped with an upgraded 408-horsepower version of the quad-cam 3,824-cubic-centimetre flat-six from the Carrera S coupled to a six-speed manual transmission, it also benefitted from ceramic composite brakes and uprated suspension.

Visually, there were wider haunches and a new rear bumper, while the 19-inch wheels and ducktail spoiler paid obvious homage to the ’73 Carrera RS.

Number 138 of only 250 made—all of which were painted Sport Classic Grey—the car offered was registered in Spain on 24 June 2010, having left the factory that April.
