This handsome example of Porsche’s groundbreaking 911 GT3-R was delivered new to Italian GT team ART Engineering, in whose hands it enjoyed considerable success.
At the A-1 Ring 500 kilometres—the first round of the 2000 FIA GT Championship—Fabio Mancini and Gianni Collini drove the car to a fine N-GT class win.
This came ahead of stiff class opposition from fellow Porsche teams EMKA, Larbre, and Red Bull Racing.
Other notable results that year included 7th in class at Brno, 8th at Magny-Cours, and 10th at Lausitzring.
For 2001, ART retained the services of future Ferrari test driver, Andrea Bertolini.
