Launched at the 1958 Paris Motor Show, the 250 GT Coupé signalled Ferrari’s intention to produce cars in greater volumes.

Pinin Farina coachwork replaced the Boano- and Ellena-bodied cars of years previous.

As Ferrari’s bestselling model at the time, 353 were built between 1958 and 1960.

A gentleman’s Ferrari in every sense, the 250 GT Coupé was the definitive Italian grand tourer of the late-1950s.

They were built for drivers who wanted Ferrari’s racing pedigree, combined with a civilised road-riding experience.

Leaving Pinin Farina’s workshop on 2 April 1959, chassis 1383 GT was finished in a splendid two-tone colour combination—the body was painted in Grigio Argento, with the roof in Grigio Fumo.

Inside the cabin, Rosso carpet adorned the floors, while the seats were covered in a combination of Rosso leather and vinyl.

Finished in July 1959, the Ferrari was collected directly from the factory by the Swiss racing driver and hill climb champion, Willy-Peter Daetwyler.
