Added to the model range in 1954, the BMW 502 shared its body and chassis with the 501, but was powered by an all-new 2.6-litre V-8 engine and sold as a premium saloon.
In April 1957, an enlarged 3,168 cc engine became available.
Badged by BMW as the “3.2 Super”, these 502s could reach speeds of 170 km/h, thanks to a healthy output of 140 PS from the 3.2-litre engine.
This 502 was built as a 3.2 Super and left the Munich factory on 26 March 1959.
It was delivered to the BMW dealer, Paolini of Rome, on 10 April, and was first registered on 23 June 1959.
