First launched in 1993 as a homologated road car, the Lister Storm was powered by one of the largest V-12 engines ever fitted to a production car at that time: a 7.0-litre unit derived from the Jaguar XJR-9 that raced in FIA Group C campaigns.

Four examples were completed before production of the road-going Storm ceased.

The Storm was subsequently developed for motorsport in various guises, with this GT example joined alongside GTL, GTM, and GTS models.

This Lister Storm GT, chassis number GTM005, was built in March 2001 and entered by Lister Racing in FIA GT Championships in 2001, 2002, and 2003 as a factory car, securing five podium finishes in that time.

It finished 2nd at Silverstone and the same at the Spa 24 Hours in 2002, followed by 1st place at Anderstorp and 2nd at Monza in 2003.

In 2004, Lister Racing sold chassis GTM005 to Fournier Laroque, of French team Red Racing, which campaigned the car with Lister factory backing in the FFSA GT Championship during 2005 and 2006.
