In 2005, Saleen launched the Twin Turbo model of the S7, the American-made mid-engine sports car.

Utilising the same all-aluminium engine block as the standard car, the Twin Turbo gained two Garrett turbochargers, producing 5.5 psi of boost and increasing the power output to an eye-watering 750 horsepower at 6,300 rpm, with maximum torque rated at 700 pound-feet at 4,800 rpm.

The engine was kept cool thanks to the carbon fibre front intake, directing air into twin front-mounted aluminium radiators.

The S7 Twin Turbo featured Saleen’s PowerFlash computer-controlled engine management system, with integrated coil-on-plug ignition.

The front and rear diffusers, along with the rear spoiler, were revised to increase the downforce by 60 percent.

Mated to the engine is a six-speed manual transmission that carries power to the rear wheels via a limited-slip differential.

The 0-60 mph time was estimated to be 2.7 seconds with a top speed of 248 mph.
