Nineteen thirty-three saw the introduction of numerous enhancements for Lincoln’s superb Model KB, including a revised and improved chassis, thermostatic shock absorbers, a new transmission, and adjustable-pressure four-wheel brakes, as well as subtly skirted fenders that debuted early in the season.
Only 533 KBs were made this year, including fifteen as the handsome “semi-custom” Convertible Sedan by Dietrich, style number 261, featuring clean and beautifully proportioned lines accented by a convex beltline molding and Dietrich’s signature opening vee’d windshield.
The Convertible Sedan offered here is confirmed by the original build records, held by the Henry Ford, to retain its original Dietrich coachwork and engine with which it was shipped on 9 July 1933.
Further history is known back to William and Shara Adams of Camillus, New York, who are believed to have acquired it at some time in the 1950s.
In 1966 it was shown by Mrs.
Adams at the CCCA Annual Meeting at Buck Hill Falls...
