Launched in 1937 as the direct successor to the Type 290, W18, the Type 320, W142, incorporated several cosmetic and design changes, for an updated appearance.

The body was given longer overhangs and was widened, which gave the new Type 320 a more streamlined form.

For the 1938 model year, a larger engine, which this example utilises, was offered.

The Type 320 remained nearly unchanged from 1938 until production ended in 1942.

The seven-passenger Cabriolet F offered here is an older restoration in a two-tone wine and black, and it appears to have been well maintained over the years, with cosmetic freshening as required.

Accessorised with dual side-mounted spares, body-colour disc wheels with chrome covers, a wood-grained luggage rack and a divider window that allows the car to be used as a limousine with the top raised.

It has a stately, formal aura, which is befitting of a convertible that is to be driven by chauffeur on the most elegant of occasions.
