Condition

7

The car has been refinished and reupholstered, indicating some restoration work. While it appears original under the hood and has been well-maintained, the non-original finishes and mileage suggest it's not in pristine condition. The recent service work further supports a rating that acknowledges both its well-preserved state and the need for ongoing maintenance.

RM Sotheby’s has received documentation from Mr.

Jim Kane that this car was sold to Warner Brothers on October 27, 1975, during the filming of “The Gumball Rally.” It is believed that this car was used to substitute for the wrecked Daytona Spider in some of the film’s final scenes, explaining why its interior was changed to tan with no headrests, matching the other film car, during this period.

Please contact an RM Sotheby’s specialist to review copies of this documentation.
