While the car was disassembled at the time of purchase in 1976, it underwent a meticulous restoration to its 1959 configuration between 1976 and 1986. The mechanical authenticity is remarkable, with small but important details like the date-stamped steering box of 10 January, 1951, preserved. The car was re-commissioned in 2011 and found to be mechanically sound, performing well on a recent road test. However, RM recommends a thorough professional inspection before any distance driving is attempted.

Racing victories aside, the real purpose of the 195 Inter was to provide a suitable mount for the exquisite artistry of Ghia, Vignale, Touring and others.
