AI Listing Summary
This 1931 Austin 16/6 Romney Coupe is a rare, Martin Walter-bodied vehicle, one of only two known to exist. It has been with the same family since 1989 and while the paintwork shows its age, the car is reported to be in working order, though it would benefit from recommissioning. The estimate is between £10,000 and £12,000.

Condition
6
The car is described as having mellowed paintwork and an interior retrimmed in 1989, suggesting wear. It also requires some gentle recommissioning due to lack of recent use, but is said to be working. Therefore, it falls into the 'Good' category.

24005L6 First shown in 1926, Austin’s new six was initially built with 20hp and 16 hp versions.
The Sixteen shared its chassis frame with the popular Heavy 12 and was only distinguished from the smaller versions by the Austin Six script on the radiator and wire wheels which were introduced in 1928.
The Sixteen Six was reviewed favourably by The Autocar magazine which found it ran very smoothly with a ready turn of speed.
The Model was updated and restyled over the years until production ceased in 1936.A few Austins were sent to specialist coachbuilders and this is one of them.
It is believed there are only two cars existing with this special coachwork by Martin Walter Coachbuilders of Folkestone Est.
