Although sympathetic to the overall design language of Porsche's flagship sports car, the new 911 brought with it some serious updates, not least of which was its brand spanking 247bhp, 3.6-litre M64 flat-six engine.

All-wheel drive and a trick Tiptronic automatic gearbox also joined the party, along with coil sprung suspension, power steering and ABS, and the results speak for themselves, with most of the 964 being completely new.
