At the heart of the AP1 sits the F20C, a naturally aspirated 2.0-litre four-cylinder with VTEC variable valve timing, forged internals, and a 9,000rpm redline that remains the highest of any production Honda road car.
With 237bhp and 153lb ft channelled through a six-speed manual to the rear wheels, the S2000 offered a driving experience built entirely around mechanical connection and high-rpm theatre.
This particular car is an early example, first registered on 1st March 2000 and supplied new by Saunders Honda in Chester.
