The New Yorker lineup shared its technical and structural foundation with the Royal, Windsor, and Saratoga models.

Positioned in a higher segment, the model had prices ranging from $1,825 to $2,725 in 1946, justifying the addition of two specific body styles: a two-door, six-seat “all-steel” convertible, as well as a Town and Country-style convertible, complementing the already available hardtop version.

This convertible is built on the short-wheelbase chassis (308 cm), while the sedans used a 354 cm platform.

The lacquered wood trim consists of ash for the light sections and Honduran mahogany for the dark panels.
This example has been part of the same collection for many years.

It has undergone a major mechanical modification with the installation of an 8.2-liter (500 cu in) Cadillac V8 engine paired with its automatic transmission.
