Interesting restoration project
Out of barn sold by designation, to be picked up in 64.
When introduced in 1965, the Silver Shadow inaugurated several technical innovations at Rolls Royce.

It used a self-supporting monocoque chassis with 4 independent wheels, the rear axle was damped by an automatic hydraulic levelling system patented by Citroën, and it was also the first Rolls with 4 disc brakes.

More compact than the Silver Cloud it replaces, it is undoubtedly the first Rolls to have been designed for its driver and not just for rear passengers.

Its short-stroke 6.75-liter V8 with 5-bearing crankshaft develops "sufficient" power.
The model presented here is a barn puller in need of complete restoration to get back on the road.

The interior is quite well preserved and can be kept with its current patina.
