Launched in the mid-1970s, the AMC Pacer was the fruit of an offbeat vision of the American automobile: an unprecedented width and gigantic glass surface that earned it the nickname "Flying Fishbowl".


While it baffled the American market, it became a veritable craze in Paris, largely thanks to its importer, Jean Charles Automobile.

The latter positioned the Pacer as an avant-garde vehicle, adopted by the fashion and film worlds, becoming a stylistic icon in many French films of the '70s, as well as a worldwide pop-culture star (Wayne's World).
