The AC Cobra was born in the early 1960s from a collaboration between AC Cars and Carroll Shelby.

AC supplied a lightweight chassis based on the AC Ace, while Shelby fitted a Ford V8, creating a high-performance roadster.

The first version, equipped with a 260 and then a 289 ci, quickly evolved into the 427, with a reinforced chassis and a powerful Ford FE V8.

Produced in limited quantities between 1962 and 1967, the Cobra earned a lasting reputation for high performance, racing success and iconic status among Anglo-American sports cars.


A Cobra replica built by Gardner Douglas, this GD 427 model is based on a chassis whose manufacture was confirmed by the manufacturer in 1991, despite a first registration date of 1976 appearing on the vehicle registration document.
