1980 ALFA ROMEO GTV 2000 - Chassis: 019003 - Desirable first series - Mythical twin-shaft engine - French registration The name Alfetta GTV was coined in 1976 to coincide with the launch of the two-liter version, which could be powered by up to 122 hp.

The specifications called for a body that could comfortably accommodate four passengers instead of the traditional 2+2, with the addition of a trunk with sufficient volume for travel.

The aim was to compete with compact sports sedans offering similar performance and comfort levels.

The example presented here, a GTV 2000 from 1980, benefited from €5,000 of maintenance work in 2023, including an overhaul of the rear axle, partial restoration of the underbody and repainting of the running gear.

The exhaust and transmission were also dismantled, checked and reassembled with new parts, including replacement of the flectors.

A few points remain to be addressed, including play in the rear axle, rebalancing of the braking system and repair ...
