Borgward, founded by Karl Borgward in Bremen, Germany, was Germany's 3rd largest carmaker in the 1950s, behind Volkswagen and Opel, thanks to the success of the Isabella model.
This model was built not only in Germany, but also in Latin America (Argentina, Mexico) and Asia (Thailand, Indonesia).
Unable to renew the Isabella model, and as a result of the failure of its new products (Borgward's small 6-cylinder 2L3 Anabella), Borgward filed for bankruptcy in 1961.
The model shown was delivered new in Paris on May 13, 1960, and its original registration was 5245 JY 75.
Its 1st owner is unknown, but the car was sold on August 9, 1963 to Mr Albert Pons, Glacier at 98 Boulevard des Batignolles in Paris.
