Cette voiture est assemblée à partir d’un lot de pièces qui se trouvait
entre les mains du collectionneur américain Raymond JONES du
Michigan dans les années soixante dix.
Celui-ci vendit le kit à Rudolf W.
DERX, 7264 Durmoll ,Utica,Michigan.
Ce projet était décrit comme « Type 73C /49 » dans le Registre Bugatti
américain de 1979,page 135.Dans le lot le châssis et la boite étaient alors
du type 73,le pont du type 40.
Seules les roues et le moteur décrit comme « ex 49247 » ,étaient du
type 49.
Il se peut que les pièces de type 49 , proviennent de chez A.F.LOYENS au
Luxembourg, comme les pièces de type 73.
Nous retrouvons sa description sous la référence « Type 49/R » dans le
registre Bugatti Anglais de 1989 ,page 61 .Cette fois c’est bien un projet
de type 49 sur châssis réplica qui est décrit.
