Cette voiture aujourd’hui bien sage et d’un discret bleu Bugatti, elle fut dans les années quatre-vingt-dix une des plus redoutables Bugatti de course engagées en circuits.

Selon l’historien anglais David SEWELL, la voiture aurait été reconstruite vers 1980 par son compatriote Kees BUTTI, à partir de nombreuses pièces d’origine.

Le véhicule était alors en configuration type 35 sans compresseur.

Il fut vendu en 1983 par l’intermédiaire du négociant anglais Dan MARGULIES par un amateur américain du nom de Ed GILMORE habitant Falmouth à Cape Code.

Celui-ci cède le véhicule à Donald KOLEMAN de Boston.

Il s’agit pour lui du premier contact avec la marque de Molsheim.

La voiture devait être payée sur une durée d’un an.Ce collectionneur, avocat de son état, achètera par la suite certaines Bugatti parmi les plus belles Bugatti de course et fonde en 1984 un atelier de restauration, « Competition Motors L...
