En 1906 la société CURRUS rachète les Ets CHASTEL ET DAVID fondés en 1805 et devient alors leur successeur et peut s’autoproclamer la plus ancienne carrosserie de France fondée en 1805.
CURRUS s’est rendue célèbre avec ses carrosseries d’autocars notamment.
En 1970 est créé CURRUS AMBULANCE sur base ID et HY.
La société travaille alors à 90% pour la firme de Javel.
L’ambulance présentée est utilisée jusqu’en 1985 puis remisée une dizaine d’années avant d’être rachetée par un collectionneur.
Cette
ambulance CURRUS a été utilisée de nombreuses fois pour des tournages cinématographique jusqu’en 2015.
La mécanique a été remplacée en 2014 pour le dernier tournage.
