Avec sa carrosserie monocoque très bien dessinée, ses quatre roues indépendantes et sa transmission par la traction avant, la nouvelle Citroën Traction est partie pour une carrière de plus de vingt ans en fabrication et beaucoup plus en utilisation.
C'est l'ancien collaborateur de Gabriel Voisin, André Lefebvre qui étudia ce jalon de l'histoire de l'automobile française.
La Citroën «Traction Avant» est officiellement née en mai 1934 sous la forme d'une 7 cv.
En ce qui concerne la 11cv fiscaux, elle est apparue quelques mois plus tard pour le Salon de Paris en deux modèles de carrosseries, une petite, appelée «11 Légère» et la «11 normale» plus longue de 20 cm et plus large de 12 cm.
