AI Listing Summary

This 1978 MGB Roadster is a stunning example, extensively restored with a chrome bumper conversion and upgraded interior featuring quilted leather seats. The car has been meticulously cared for, with significant investment in refurbishment and replacement of numerous components, making it one of the best examples seen.

Despite its impressive condition post-restoration, potential buyers should be aware of its past as a 'Category D Insurance Loss' from 2005, though this does not detract from the extensive work performed since.

Condition

8

The car has undergone extensive restoration, including a chrome bumper conversion, new interior components like quilted leather seats and a wooden dashboard, and replacement of numerous parts (bumpers, steering rack, suspension, brakes, fuel pump, etc.). The engine has been reconditioned. While the description highlights meticulous attention to detail and excellent condition after restoration, the 'Category D Insurance Loss' record from 2005 indicates a past incident requiring repair, which prevents a perfect score but does not negate the extensive recent work. Therefore, 'Excellent' (8) is appropriate, reflecting a very well-maintained vehicle with minimal cosmetic imperfections post-restoration, though the historical insurance loss is noted.

We are very pleased to bring to market this exceptionally nice MGB Roadster finished in red with black interior and hood.

According to HPi, the colour was changed from black to red in 2023.

The MG has benefited from an extensive restoration and chrome bumper conversion, and is now sat on a set of Minilite-style alloy wheels.

A great looking example in all ways.

The interior has been improved with the seats re-upholstered in black quilted leather and red piping, new carpets and a wooden dashboard, which looks amazing and is a great place to sit.

The B comes with a host of photos showing the restoration and a very detailed spreadsheet showing the expense that went with it.

This is backed up with a collection of receipts and invoices, and even a diagram showing the upgraded wiring system.

Just looking at it you can see the attention to detail it has enjoyed, even down to all the panel fits and the way it sits - a credit to whoever carried out the work.

It even comes with its spare...
