This very beautiful VW camper left the VW factory as a Typ 281 Microbus with a 1500cc engine on 11th February 1966 bound for Philadelphia, USA with a sought after ‘walkthrough’ cab configuration.

Imported to the UK in 2005 from, we believe, San Diego, California, by a previous owner, this Type 2 split-screen van has been configured as a camper - or perhaps what you could call a ‘day van’ with a bed, whilst retaining the ‘walkthrough’ cab and Microbus windows.

The history file is particularly impressive, with what appears to be virtually every invoice having been carefully retained.

This creates a comprehensive record of maintenance and upgrades, even including invoices from its earlier life in the Californian climate of San Diego.

The bodywork presents very well and is described as being “notably straight, with a professional respray carried out in 2005”.
