First introduced on 7th November 1996, the fifth-generation Honda Prelude represented the culmination of the marque's celebrated sporting coupé lineage.
Retaining its proven front-wheel-drive configuration, the model featured fully independent suspension and a carefully engineered 63/37 weight distribution, delivering the poised handling and engaging driving dynamics for which the Prelude became renowned.
The elegant two-door notchback silhouette was carried over from its predecessor, though the styling evolved into a cleaner, more angular design that reflected Honda's contemporary design language.
A subtle facelift for the 1999 model year brought a number of refinements, including an increase in power for automatic transmission models from 190bhp to an impressive 195bhp.
