In 1959, the same year the Morris Mini-Minor and the first section of the M1 opened, Ford introduced its fourth and final Anglia, the 105E.

Designed by Elwood Engel, designer of the 1961 Lincoln Continental and contributing designer of the T'bird, it featured American-inspired styling, including a sweeping front, reverse-angle rear window, and subtle tail fins.

It debuted the 997cc ‘Kent’ engine, later widely used in models from the Capri to the Fiesta, with variants produced until 2022! It had a four-speed manual gearbox (synchromesh on the top three gears), MacPherson strut front suspension, and a leaf-sprung live rear axle.

It gained renewed popularity after appearing in the Harry Potter films (2001–2011).
