The 2000 GXL model was the top of the range for the MK3 Cortina line, as they didn’t do the Ghia specification, but it gave you the luxury and the sporting appearance.
It was quite a clever combination, offering touches such as additional chrome detailing, vinyl roof and ungraded trim.
The MK3 introduced Ford’s ‘coke bottle’ styling to the family saloon market, instantly giving the Cortina a more modern and American-inspired look.
In 1972 the GXL trim level had become the most luxurious version available.
This Ford Cortina 2000 GXL is finished in period correct styling with the desirable GXL trim package, with the alloy wheels with chrome embellishers and twin headlights.
