AI Listing Summary
This 1988 Austin Mini has undergone significant upgrades over the past three years, including engine work, body repairs, and interior modifications, with over £20,000 spent. While boasting enhancements like a rebuilt engine, upgraded brakes and suspension, and a fresh coat of paint, some issues need attention, such as a non-functional speedometer and a loose headliner.

Condition
6
The car is described as having been stripped and repainted, with welding and repairs undertaken. It has upgraded features like brakes, suspension, and interior, but the speedo is not working, and the oil temperature gauge is not connected. The headliner is loose, and while the paintwork is ceramic coated and in great condition, there are perspex windows and bullet mirrors, and Martini-style decals are not yet fitted. These factors suggest moderate wear and the need for some reconditioning.

What started life as a black Mini Designer is now something very different - having been completely gone through and upgraded in the current vendors ownership.
Firstly, the Mini was stripped with all requisite welding and repairs being undertaken before a new coat of white paint was applied at a cost of £4,000 (receipt on file).
It was de-bumpered at the same time, and wide, colour coded arches added in addition to two replacement doors.
In parallel, Mini Sport were employed to rebuild the original engine with a modified 998 head and tricky cam (Kent 500) with an HS4 SU carb and cone filter at a cost of over £5,000.
Please note that the engine is still being run in and operating instructions are included in the file together with a booklet summarising the full engine specification.
It is believed the engine is now pushing out in the region of 75 bhp - although we have no evidence of this.
The overall effect of these upgrades is impressive.
