It is difficult to confirm just how many Supersport Targas were built for the UK market, after much investigation and consulting numerous Porsche enthusiast websites, we are led to believe that there were only 15/18 brought into Great Britan.
Whilst no definitive figures seem to exist, it is safe to say that there were not many, but we have one here.
The 930 Turbo was unquestionably the poster car of the late 1980s, wide bodied and be winged with more than enough power to match its aggressive looks.
Porsche took notice and offered option code M491 for its best-selling Carrera 3.2.
For around £10,000 extra you would get four piston brake calipers, 16” Fuch alloys, 7” on the front and 9” on the rear with low profile tyres and of course the sought after Turbo Look body complete with front spoiler and rear Tea tray whale tail spoiler.
It had about 50 bhp less than the Turbo but resulted in in a more user friendly driver’s car - as we all know, the Turbo was prone to the occasional pir...
