Here we have a lovely example of the Mercedes flagship of the 1990s, a Mercedes CL coupe with the 4.2 engine.

These cars were always over engineered and no other manufacturer could get near them.

It is believed that every one of these lost money for Mercedes but that wasn’t important at the time, it was all about the quality and making a world class car, which is what they did.

This example has only had three recorded keepers according to the HPi, although the old-style V5s on file would suggest that two of these are the same person with just a change of address.

The CL is shown as being built in 1998 and registered in the UK on 8/4/1999 with the HPi stating that it is an import.
