AI Listing Summary

This 1987 Jaguar XJ-SC is a rare V12 model with less than 20 believed to be on UK roads. It requires cosmetic work including addressing rust, worn leather, and paint, but it drives well and comes with a good history file, offering a project for classic car enthusiasts.

Condition

5

The car has noticeable cosmetic wear, including rust on the bumpers, worn leather, and the need for wheel refurbishment. The paint has stood up well but requires polishing. Some minor trim pieces are missing. While the V12 drives well and the vendor reported no issues on a 50-mile drive, the car requires moderate reconditioning to bring it to a higher standard.

A rare chance to own a rare car - we understand that there are less than 20 of these V12 Jaguar XJ-SCs on UK roads at this time.

Having only covered approx.

3,000 miles in the last 15 years, we suspect that this example has been off the road or in storage for part of this time.

Whilst the V12 drives very well, there is no doubt that with some time, effort and obviously some expenditure, you could improve it immeasurably.

We can see from our HPI report that a colour change took place in 2008 when the original blue paintwork was changed to the current silver - the paint has stood up quite well and would only need a machine polish to sparkle again.

The wheels will also require some attention, we can’t see any damage but refurbishment would transform the overall look.

Unfortunately, the bumpers are starting to rust, particularly the rear.

Inside, the leather although worn, does not seem to have any tears or rips, some minor trim pieces are missing.
