Whilst this Cortina 2 litre ‘S’ is not the most immaculate of examples, we think it would prove to be a very usable one and possibly a great entry to classic car motoring.

Being an ‘S’ model, it boasts the requisite matt black panel between the rear lights, Rostyle wheels, front spots, stripey trim, front and rear black bumpers, and rev counter.

It also has a sunroof, although this is no longer operable given the fitting of a vinyl roof sometime in its life.

Aftermarket black bonnet catches have also been fitted.

The vender tells us the Cortina was originally registered at Gordon Ford in Wigan, and whilst it has been in use recently, it will need some recommissioning - although it starts on the key, runs, drives and brakes.

The vendor also tells us this is a matching numbers example, and that polybushes have been fitted to improve the handling.

The mileage is presently showing as a shade under 87,000 miles, with the last MOT in 2012 showing the mileage at 84,683.
