This special Metro was originally a 1986 Austin Metro City 998cc finished in black - and it is now very different as you can see! It was built by the vendor in the 1990s, specifically for MG Car Club / MG Metro Cup track days and hill climbs using the basic shell with a number of necessary upgrades including the fitting of a roll cage, racing seat, minimal instrumentation, straight cut gearbox and upgraded A series engine.

The engine of the Metro is of course the beating heart and the owner has confirmed the following specification: There is a Dyno print out from 2007 when the engine power (corrected) was rated at 117.2hp at 96mph - which given the weight of less than a tonne means that this is a fast little Metro.

Other fitments include a 45 Carb (Weber), Janspeed exhaust, modified radiator, straight cut close ratio gearbox (race spec), uprated drop gears and bearing (MED), uprated 4 pin diff (no LSD), and an alloy fuel tank with return.

The MG sports a roll cage as well.
