Here’s something you don’t see very often, a BMW 1602 but with a twist.

This example was restored a few years ago in Portugal by a well-known restorer and you can see where he was going with it.

The attention to detail is very good, but it needs finishing.

That was the intention when the vendor brought it over to the UK, but like most things in life this is not how it has worked out.

It does need to be finished off, but what has been done is rather good.

The attention to detail under the bonnet is lovely, it has new chassis plates and is painted very well.

The rest of the paint is also good and would appear that when it was painted it was the whole body.

The inside of the boot is also lovely and very solid.

The colour is what we believe to be Estoril blue, the BMW ‘M’ colour, which is rather fitting as the Estoril race track that the colour is named after is in Portugal.

The interior, which might be the original, is in OK condition and is finished in beige vinyl.
