AI Listing Summary

This 1955 Singer 4AD Roadster, one of the last produced, features a 1500cc engine, manual transmission, and comprehensive history since 1968. Recent mechanical work and included weather gear enhance its appeal, though a respray in a non-original color and over 40,000 miles indicate some restoration may be desired.

While the car is described as being in 'lovely condition throughout' and the weather gear is 'relatively unmarked,' the respray in a non-original color (Rover’s Zircon Blue instead of the original Metallic Silver Blue) and the mileage over 40,000 indicates that the car is not in pristine condition. However, recent work including brake adjustments and universal joint replacements, along with a comprehensive history file and well-maintained components, suggest it is in very good condition with only minor reconditioning potentially needed.

We are indebted to the vendor for providing the following information: “This 4AD Roadster car is one of the last Roadsters produced by Singer in early 1955.

It has a 1500cc engine with a Solex carburettor and four-speed gearbox, and is fitted with a 4:1 ratio axle which offers easy cruising, electronic ignition for easy starting, rack and pinion steering and bolt-on chromed wire-wheel with good condition tyres.

It comes with a hood and tonneau cover and side screens, all in good condition.

A file provides a summary of the car’s history, repairs and original log books, as well as a workshop manual etc.

I purchased the car in November 2015 with a mileage of 35,745 and have enjoyed using it since then.

It has been used for various Singer club events including being driven to all the Singer national weekends since then.

The mileage is now just over 40,000.

It has a V5 and a current optional MOT.

Limited use and the increasing age of the owner suggest this rather reluctant sale.” He...
