AI Listing Summary

This 1972 Ford Capri 3000E, a rare UK-supplied manual model, boasts single-family ownership from new. While it requires cosmetic attention due to paint dullness and some corrosion, along with minor mechanical work, its original specification and desirable features like green leather upholstery and original manuals make it a worthwhile project.

Condition

The car is described as needing a cosmetic tidy up inside and out, with the paint having lost its shine and corrosion on the offside rear arch. The engine is described as lumpy when cold, though it improves when warm. The sun visors need reattaching. While the seats are in lovely condition, the overall state suggests noticeable wear and the need for reconditioning.

The Ford Essex V4 engine 2.0L (British built) and Cologne V6 2.0 L (German built) served as initial range-toppers.

At the end of the year, new sports versions were added: the 2300 GT in Germany, using a twin-choke carburettor with 125bhp, and in September 1969 the 3000 GT in the UK, with the Essex V6 generating 138bhp.

The range continued to be broadened, ...
