The Lotus Excel 2+2 started production in 1982, running for 10 years with three major revisions and is the last front-engined RWD, 4-seater GT produced by Lotus.
The last few cars were produced in 1992 with the final car being given to the late, great Colin Chapman’s wife Hazel.
The styling was by Oliver Winterbottom who went on to design many more “wedge” shape cars for TVR.
